WHERE ARE
YOU IN RELATION TO CANCER?
Are you an ostrich with your head in the sand, not believing it can
happen to you?
This would be a shame because
a.
it is recognised by respected cancer
research organisations that there is much you can do to guard against cancer
(see www.dietandcancerreport.org
for American Institute for Cancer Research’s views), and read Your Life In Your Hands (Virgin, London
2000) by Professor Jane Plant concerning diet and lifestyle factors that can
affect/prevent breast cancer (also prostate and probably other types of
cancer).
b.
the statistics of getting cancer and
dying from cancer show that despite all the money thrown at research, the
problem is getting worse, much worse. At the beginning of the 21st
century it is expected that one in eight women in the UK will get breast cancer
and one in four men prostate cancer. In the USA it is expected that
one in two men and one in three women will get cancer in their lifetime. One in
four are likely to die from cancer. In most types of cancer the
survival rate has not improved.
Are
you interested in cancer prevention?
GREAT! If everyone was interested, and decided to take
action that became a life-time habit, then cancer could become a rare anomaly.
Cancer is a chronic metabolic disease, and in history these (such as scurvy,
pellagra, beri-beri, rickets) have only ever been conquered by a change in
nutrition. The answer has always been in what we eat.
There are many ways you can fight cancer. One is to build up the immune
system so that it is very strong. Another is to supplement with antioxidants
which fight carcinogens in the body. However, vitamin B17/amygdalin seems to be
unique in the way that it directly attacks cancer cells. This substance is
found in many of the foods we eat. Examples of amygdalin rich foods are bitter
almonds (amygdalin tastes bitter - sweet almonds do not contain it), apple
pips, grape seeds, apricot kernels and the seeds of non-citrus fruits, millet,
broad beans, and many other seeds (especially sprouted seeds) and beans and
grains - but not ones that have been highly hybridised (wheat is low in
amygdalin).
For prevention of cancer, Dr Ernst T Krebs Jr., the biochemist who first
produced laetrile (concentrated amygdalin) from apricot kernels in the 1950s,
recommended that if a person would eat seven to ten apricot kernels a day for
life, then barring Chernobyl, he is likely to be cancer free. See 'Suppliers' to order apricot kernels.
Have
you had cancer and are now in remission, or perhaps, if treatment was fairly
recent, you are in a ‘wait and see’ time?
Ernst T. Krebs Jr, the biochemist who instigated the vitamin B17 and
nutritional therapy, proposed that although cancer is triggered by many
carcinogens/stress, etc., the body may not be able to self heal if there is
a vitamin B17 deficiency (in the same way as scurvy is a result of a
deficiency in vitamin C). For those who have had cancer treated conventionally
and had tumours removed surgically, received chemotherapy and radiotherapy and
have been told that they no longer have cancer, it needs to be very clearly
understood that removing tumours and killing cancer cells does not remove the
vitamin deficiency, and therefore the cancer may possibly return if this is
not dealt with. In fact, for those who have received chemotherapy, which hits
the immune system, the situation has undoubtedly been exacerbated. There is
an urgent need (even after ‘successful’ conventional treatment) to take vitamin
B17 and supporting nutritional supplements, to counteract vitamin B17
deficiency, boost the immune system, and help prevent a re-emergence of cancer.
If conventional treatment is in the recent past and been
‘successful’, nevertheless a HIGH DOSE vitamin B17 treatment programme plus
nutritional support for a month or more may be advisable (see ‘NUTRITION THERAPY FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING WITH CANCER: a
summary of different sources’). It is important not to be
complacent. A permanently improved diet and full
supplements, always continuing with vitamin B17, (two 500mg tablets daily for
life) was recommended by Dr Philip E. Binzel who had such amazing results in
his GP practise in the USA for 18 years until he retired. Alive and Well (American
Media, California, 1994) by Binzel can be ordered from www.amazon.com or
www.cancure.org. See 'Suppliers' for sources
of supplements. You may have tackled the symptoms of cancer (the tumour), but
have you investigated the cause? See
also ‘Maintenance lifestyle for those who have had
cancer.’

you fighting cancer right now?

Well (mentioned above) or for a summary of this and other B17 protocols see

There is a lot of information to take in, but it is worth the effort.
Your life is at stake and it is you who are responsible for what you do about
it. In a war it is not usual to rely on one type of weapon. A combination of
strategies is normal. Orthodox treatment uses surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
It would seem sensible therefore not to rely just on taking concentrated
vitamin B17 tablets, but also to alter your diet, take supplements and consider
some of the natural therapies that work alongside laetrile/vitamin B17. (This
holistic approach of using other therapies alongside the vitamin B17/laetrile
and nutritional therapy is used in the hospitals in Mexico.)
It is good to be positive - this helps in keeping well, but nevertheless
there needs to be an understanding of the reality that for most types of
cancer, orthodox treatment has a dismal record, especially for secondary
cancers. Oncologist Dr Albert Braverman says (Lancet, April 13, 1991):
"…many medical oncologists recommend chemotherapy for virtually any tumour,
with a hopefulness undiscouraged by almost invariable failure."

Since 1963, 100,000 patients have been treated at the Oasis of Hope

to them with stage IV cancers after conventional therapy had failed to help
them. They had been sent home to die. (Francisco Contreras The

If you have been diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer
(duct carcinoma in situ) there is good news, but you need to take the
initiative to benefit from it. WDDTY (What Doctor's Don't
Tell You) in their February 2004 newsletter have a special report on 'Breast
Cancer: when its not cancer at all'. "A growing number
of experts believe that the advent of breast cancer screening has created a
problem where none may actually exist, labelling many conditions as cancer
which aren't serious or life-threatening. The astonishing fact is
that fully half of all cases of so-called breast cancer might not be cancer at
all, but a harmless abnormality that will never progress to
cancer." If you have been diagnosed with DCIS breast cancer,

The
It is much more difficult to get rid of cancer than to prevent it.
Therefore while cancer sufferers have many things they can do to fight against
this disease, it is to be hoped that, while the cancer sufferer is taking
vitamin B17 and nutritional therapy, the rest of their family and friends will
start on a lifetime prevention programme, so that they are not likely to have
to take such extreme measures to combat cancer.
